Line Striping Assistant

We are a small and growing, Kenmore-based business and are looking to proactively hire a new Line Striping Assistant for this coming striping season, which typically kicks off in the March/April timeframe. Our season usually lasts through October/November. Check out the details below for more information.

A bit about the hours and schedule:

  • We are looking for individuals who are interested in part-time/as-needed work, with flexible hours.

  • The work can vary from say 5 hours a week to 25+. Additional hours can be provided, based on the Line Striping Assistant’s availability and our project needs.

  • We have projects during the day, evenings, and weekends and we only work when it’s 100% dry outside.

  • The Line Striping Assistant won’t need to always be available, rather we’ll work with them to match their availability to our projects. In the end, we can be flexible for the right person.

A bit about what you'll be doing:

  • This job entails working outdoors and can be very physical at times, ranging from operating a backpack or push blower/power broom to lifting objects up to around 60 pounds.

  • This role will require frequent kneeling/bending and at times lots of walking.

  • The Line Striping Assistant's duties may include unloading/loading supplies and machinery, helping prepare properties for striping, assisting with the layout of parking lots for painting, moving stencils, cleaning equipment/stencils, and operating various machinery.

  • Not every moment will be action-packed. At times, the Line Striping Assistant will have downtime between tasks.

This job and the work associated with this role will be very fun and rewarding for the right person. This is a very niche and specialized business, and it can take years of experience to master. To that end, we’d also be very interested in offering training in the operation of line striping equipment for those who are interested in a long-term future with our company, along with future opportunities to lead projects/crews and work with our customers.

Pay and benefits:

  • Starting pay for the Line Striping Assistant will range from $20-25 per hour depending on qualifications. We pay weekly.

  • You will be paid a minimum of 4 hours for each day worked, for completed projects.

  • Overtime pay.

  • Uniform shirts, along with safety gear are provided (i.e. respirators, dust masks, safety vests, and gloves).

  • Paid sick leave.

  • Washington Family Care Act (FCA).

  • Domestic violence leave.

  • Washington Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) program.

  • Military Family Leave.

  • Long-term care benefits - Washington Cares Fund.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Neat, well-groomed, personable, professional appearance.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Ability to learn how to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials, up to around 60 pounds, and work in various weather conditions.
